Some licenses on PluginsMasters are cheaper because they are only for customers who already own something: an earlier version, another product of the brand, or a student or teacher status. Here is how to check that a deal is for you before you buy. Not sure? Ask us with the name of the license you already own — we will check it for you.
The four license types
Each of these products has a black label under its title (Upgrade, Crossgrade, Loyalty or EDU) and a short note about who can buy it.
Upgrade
For owners of an earlier version of the same product, or of the product named in the title. For example, Pro-Q 4 Upgrade is for owners of an earlier Pro-Q. An upgrade is not a full version: without the qualifying license, it will not activate.
Typical title formats: "Upgrade", "UPG", "Update from…", or "New product < Old product" (the product after the "<" is the one you must own).
Crossgrade
For owners of a different product that the brand accepts as qualifying. Most crossgrades only accept products from the same brand. For example, a Synchro Arts crossgrade is for owners of another Synchro Arts product, not of a pitch-correction plugin from another brand. Some brands accept "competitive" products from other brands; when they do, the description says so.
Loyalty
A discounted price for existing customers of the brand, usually owners of any paid product from that brand. Some brands exclude their free or entry-level products from the offer: check the description.
EDU (education)
For students, teachers and schools. The brand may ask for proof of status when you register the product, such as a student card, a school email address or a certificate of enrolment. EDU licenses are usually for non-commercial, educational use; check the brand's terms.
Audiocamp students: your discounted products are in your Student Space, available once you are logged in with your student account.
How to check that you are eligible
- Read the note under the label on the product page, then click Eligibility details to read the product description. When the brand lists the qualifying products, they are written there.
- Check your existing license in the brand's account or license manager (iLok, Native Access, Waves Central, UA Connect…). The qualifying product must be registered to your account with that brand, usually the same account you will use to register the new license.
- If the description doesn't say which products qualify, look at the brand's own upgrade or crossgrade page, or ask us before you buy.
When is eligibility checked?
The brand checks it, not the checkout. You can add any of these licenses to your cart, but when you register the code, the brand's system looks for the qualifying product (or asks for proof of student status). If you are not eligible, the license will not activate.
What if I bought a license I'm not eligible for?
Do not register or activate the code. Contact us with your order number as soon as possible.
- Before the code is registered or activated, and within 14 days of purchase, refund requests are reviewed case by case. As a reseller, we must follow each brand's refund policy and sometimes need the brand's approval first.
- Once a license has been registered or activated, or the download has started, it cannot be refunded.
See our Refund Policy for full details.
